i haven’t figured out yet what to tell you about someone who frames your face for decades, and how they make you feel differently about the World, as a result. This will have to do for now.

Hi Sarah, I just went to Miwa’s salon for the first time in many years. While I was there I was getting an odd feeling. There was some hushed whispers about a memorial but I didn’t think it could be Miwa. I looked up her name now that I’m home and the weirdness persisted and this came up. I’m so sorry to hear that Miwa died. My mother was a client who felt very much the same as you write about Miwa.My Mom died of cancer 6 years ago. I went because I was in NYC and wanted to reconnect. I wish they had said something to me when I was there. Will there be a memorial? I appreciate any information that you are willing to forward. She was an artist and lovely friend to my Mom. Thanks, Kristina

I wish I knew more. I have heard from another client and friend that a memorial was scheduled, and that we’d all be told by the salon, ostensibly; but I’ve heard nothing at all. I should call and try to find out. Thanks for your thoughts, and for connecting. So many people have been touched by her life, her talent, and unique style. And her kindness!

Hi all, I just found out as well. There will be two memorial services at the Salon 1/23 and 1/30. They will be sending out the info in mail. Miwa was indeed an inspiring spirit and I felt extaordinarily lucky that I’d gotten to know her over the last 10 years.
