Nathaniel Robinson at Feature Gallery in “Art in America”

What an interesting and fun show. Spent a lot of time in it, and noticed all the truly odd reactions others were having to the space. The gallery felt like it was on a different planet. I also learned a lot from speaking with the artist — I thing I rarely enjoy doing when reviewing a show. It’s just not my style. However, he told me about an essay he read (I believe while still in school?) by Edgar Allen Poe, and I’ve been trying to remember it’s name since… He also talked about the phenomenon of cargo culture — something that I didn’t look up at the time, but have now.
