Resources for Artists
My Philosophy
As a journalist, I believe that part of my job is to encourage the general public to engage with art—in museums, galleries, and (one of my favorites) art found in unusual settings.
As a critic, I look for artists, curators and dealers who “think outside the box.” I like to give artists their first (or some of their earliest) exposure in the press; I like to take intellectual and creative risks like my artistic subjects do.
I believe a large part of the artistic process is problem solving, and that everyone can be inspired by that fact regardless of their familiarity with art.
I try to reward and encourage creative thinking wherever I find it.
