Paid a visit to Pratt Institute. It looks much like how I left it upon graduation, complete with this oddity of newfangled technology: the ball point pen machine:

Hey, they’re retractable! And, even better, the ‘card catalogue.’
Granted, the latter is on view in the hallway near the refurbished (well, not so) New Media area (where I was able to purchase a Pier Paolo Passolini film from the ’60s for $1—ostensibly being de-accessioned). No, the card catalogue is not Pratt’s only method used to search for a book.
But, some things don’t change. And I was sorta hoping that grad school wouldn’t be one of those things.
