About Me
I’m a journalist.
I’m a curator…
Lots of people wear more than one hat. But one thing that all my pursuits have in common is writing—good writing (I believe). I enjoy writing kick-*ass marketing text for the Web as much as I like blogging like an urban flaneur, or weighing in as art critic on The Whitney Biennial for The New York Post.
A painter once gave me some good advice. She said: “Work smart, not hard.” I still haven’t figured out how to follow that advice, ’cause I do both.
But I really, really like what I do.
Here’s a portfolio of recent writing clients and projects:

I give workshops on writing, and have been a professor at The New School, Pratt Institute, and Medgar Evers Collage. I’ve served as visiting art critic at City College–CUNY, Pace University, and Parsons, and have delivered lectures on how to write at Winkelman Gallery (#hashtagclass), Pierogi Gallery, Smack Mellon, Dumbo Arts Center, Brooklyn Arts Council, and The Bronx Museum (AIM Program).
